Spring Garden Tour Is On!

The Master Gardener Spring Garden Tour is on! The tour will be held on Saturday, April 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday, May 1, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 pm; and will feature six residential gardens and one school garden all located north of I-635, between Carrollton/Farmers Branch and Richardson.

The six home gardens offer a variety of styles, sizes, plants, and landscape characteristics. The school garden is a miniature botanical wonder—showcasing over thirty of the top plants for our region. Trained Master Garden docents will be on hand to point out garden features, identify plants, provide growing tips, and answer questions, with a focus on gardening techniques for North Texas, including the use of native plants and Earth-Kind® practices.

Experts on topics including roses, Japanese Maples, butterfly gardens, and composting will be on site providing tips and quick lessons. Visitors will be encouraged to take pictures and interact with the garden owners to learn more about how each garden took shape and to get ideas, solutions, and information from some of the best gardeners in Dallas.

All the gardens will also be PlantTAGG® enabled, allowing tour visitors to access the most current, research-based horticultural information about featured plants by clicking on a QR code with their cell phones.

Tour tickets go on sale mid-February and will cost $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
