Congratulations to DCMG Class of 2021
Kudos to the Dallas County Master Gardener (DCMG) Class of 2021! Despite the restrictions placed on them by the ongoing pandemic, 39 interns satisfactorily completed their virtual classes and at least 50 hours of required volunteer service, officially making them Certified DCMGs.
Because of the recent surge in Omicron COVID-19 cases, the prized Texas-shaped DCMG badges are being distributed via drive-by pickup. The DCMG School Team hopes to plan a more fitting graduation celebration once COVID-19 cases fall and warmer weather allows for an outdoor gathering.

A special thanks to the following people for helping the new graduates reach their goals: Jeff Raska, Horticultural Director and MG Volunteer Coordinator for Dallas County; the MG School Team (Zandra Faris, Denise Strueber, and Cynthia Jones); the Class of 2021 Class Captains (Nicole Jones, MaryClare Milner, and Kimberly Minear); the DCMG Project Leaders and volunteers who invited the volunteers to visit their projects; Tig Thompson and Ruby Watson for ordering the badges; and Class of 2020 Captain, Jennifer Bowers, for organizing the badge distribution.
We look forward to seeing all the ways the creative and hardworking Class of 2021 make their own contributions to the Master Gardener program. Well done!
