The garden at Anne Frank Elementary School, in far north Dallas, was started by teachers just after the school opened in 1997.
Texas Discovery Gardens’ (TDG) 7.5 acres offer a wonderful diversity of garden styles and botanical collections.
The Armstrong Elementary School Garden was founded in 2014 by two experienced and passionate Master Gardeners who wanted to create a learning space for the school’s students.
The MGs met at TDG biweekly, working area by area, using field guides, online applications, and their own personal knowledge to identify the trees and plot their location on the quadrant maps.
Located near the Texas Discovery Gardens’ (TDG) main entrance and butterfly house, the garden supports the mission of TDG to provide horticultural education.

Kidd Springs Park is one of Dallas’s historic parks. Located at 700 W. Canty St. in north Oak Cliff, it is a popular community space for fishing, playing basketball, soccer, tennis, pickleball, swimming in the new aquatic center, and strolling through the Japanese Garden located within the park.
