Kudos to New Advanced Master Gardeners in Plant Propagation

We are pleased to congratulate two of our own—Amy Monroe (Class of 2023) and Mark Jones (Class of 2017)—who have officially earned the title of Advanced Master Gardeners in Plant Propagation! Their dedication, curiosity, and commitment to service shine brightly, and this achievement reflects many hours of learning, practicing, and sharing their passion for horticulture.

Advanced Training is one of the highest recognitions within the Texas Master Gardener Program. Its purpose is to deepen expertise so volunteers can strengthen county educational programs and inspire others through leadership, teaching, and hands on demonstrations. It’s a rigorous process that requires current certification, agent approval, at least 16 hours of advanced instruction, and a minimum of 20 volunteer hours dedicated to applying that new knowledge in service to the community.

Amy and Mark have met—and exceeded—these expectations with enthusiasm. Their new designation means they will now help lead propagation education in Dallas County, training fellow Master Gardeners and engaging the public with the joy and science of growing new plants. Their contributions will enrich our programs for years to come.

They have received their certificates and will be honored by name at the Texas Master Gardener Annual Conference. Please join us in celebrating Amy and Mark for this outstanding accomplishment and for the leadership they bring to our gardening community.
