Don’t Miss Garden Tour Silent Auction
In conjunction with the Garden Tour, Dallas County Master Gardeners will hold a Silent Auction for eight unique and desirable items. The auction will open on the first day of the tour, Saturday, April 30th at 12:15 am. It closes at 12:15 pm May 26th, the day of the DCMGA monthly meeting.
Among the sought-after pieces up for auction are two copies of the impossible to find DCMGA cookbook A Year on the Plate, a 50-gallon Shin Deshojo Japanese Maple from Metro Maples, a blue and white bottle tree handcrafted by local artist and gardener Felix Saucedo, and a chicken coop designed and built by Master Gardener Lewis Frias. Get ready to submit your bids.
The Garden Tour is the main source of fundraising for the Dallas County Master Gardener Association, Inc.(DCMGA), which is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting horticultural education and volunteer service throughout the county. It is a component of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, an agency of Texas A&M University.
The funds raised from the garden tour and silent auction will go toward DCMGA programs and events which provide learning opportunities to county residents through speakers and demonstration gardens, as well as garden projects for local organizations that provide services to individuals and families in distress. These programs include community service projects, community gardens, school gardens, research, education, and demonstration gardens.
You can also buy them during the tour at any garden.
