Located on land donated by Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, this project is the result of a four-way partnership between the following donors: Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, City of Farmers Branch, Dallas County Master Gardeners, and the local community.
The goal of the Farmers Branch Community Garden is to bring the community together in a shared educational experience and to establish a hands-on community service project. Needy families receive 25 percent of the garden’s produce through Metroplex Social Services. On Saturday mornings DCMGs are available to answer questions and provide hands-on guidance.
As part of this community project, DCMGs are present at the Farmers Branch Market each Saturday from April through October to answer questions, share gardening ideas. and teach garden crafts to visitors to the Market. They also lead informational meetings focused on best horticultural practices at the Farmers Branch Community Recreation Center
