Dick Coupe is Honored as Texas Master Gardener Emeritus
John Richard (Dick) Coupe has served as a devoted Texas Master Gardener in Dallas County since 2003, contributing over 3000 hours of volunteer service. While he willingly served in a variety of roles, the highlight was his term as Texas Master Gardener Association President in 2014.
Locally, he served in the following roles: Director-at-Large on the DCMGA Board, Chairman of the Financial Review Committee, member of the Garden Incubation team, special advisor to the DCMGA Board on liability insurance, a member of the AgriLife Extension Advisory Board, and a volunteer at the Raincatcher’s Garden He took great pleasure in teaching students from Dallas Independent School District during many a Farm Day at the Texas State Fair. Throughout his years of volunteering, his horticulture degree from the Kansas State Agricultural College certainly was a tremendous asset.
It is because of his exemplary service in so many volunteer positions in Dallas County and the state of Texas that he is awarded the honor of Texas Master Gardener Emeritus by Texas AgriLife Extension Service.
