Texas Discovery Gardens Dedicates Greenhouses to DCMG Roseann Ferguson
No one exemplifies the true spirit of giving more than our dear friend, revered mentor, and fellow Dallas County Master Gardener (DCMG), Roseann Ferguson. At this spring’s Flora Fest, the Texas Discovery Garden (TDG) dedicated their greenhouses to Roseann in appreciation for over 22,000 hours as the director of volunteers, and the quintessential educator to countless Master Gardeners, Master Naturalists, and residents of Dallas County and beyond.
Amazingly, Roseann was completely surprised that Flora Fest celebrated her years of tireless service. How else do you say thank you to someone who has literally changed the world? How many people has she touched? How many of her seedlings have grown up to anchor the native Texas gardens all over North Texas? It is impossible to estimate her ripple in our world, so it is especially fitting that the greenhouses will soon be officially named The Roseann Ferguson Greenhouses.
It was a great day indeed, complete with delicious food. a fabulous watercolor painted in her honor, and a lovely serenade by mariachis that included her son, granddaughter, and grandson. You are one of a kind, Roseann, and we are so grateful for your service, your wisdom, and your willingness to teach us all about “where the magic happens.”
