DCMGA March Meeting
We were very hopeful we could have our February 24th monthly meeting in person. COVID numbers cooperated, but the weather unfortunately did not. We are extremely optimistic, however, and ready to hold our next meeting on Thursday, March 24 in person at Walnut Hill Church, 10066 Marsh Lane in Dallas, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The public and Master Gardeners can also participate live on Zoom. Registration is required so we can generate a list of participants to include them in our random selection of six attendees to receive plants propagated in the Texas Discovery Gardens Greenhouse
Our guest speaker will be Suzanne Tuttle. She will speak about “Uncommon Wildflowers of the LBJ National Grasslands”; just in time for you to visit this protected area in Wise County, less than an hour’s drive from Ft Worth, at its best.
Suzanne is a plant ecologist who retired in July 2016 after a 23-year career at the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from UT Arlington and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Horticulture from Tarrant County Junior College (now TCC). She is currently serving on the Boards of Directors for the Fort Worth Chapter of the Native Prairies Association of Texas and the John Bunker Sands Wetland Center in Combine, TX. Suzanne is also a member of the Cross Timbers Master Naturalist Chapter based in Fort Worth.
We hope you can join us in person or on Zoom!
