Class of 2025 Delivers their Final Presentations
It’s hard to believe that Master Gardener School is almost over! The students have learned so much this year and seem to have enjoyed the experience immensely. Instead of a written final examination, each student was required to create and deliver an original presentation to their peers, class coordinators, and a small panel of Master Gardener judges.
The presentations began on Tuesday, April 29; and all of them were outstanding- clever, relevant, thoughtfully prepared, some with a bit of self-deprecating humor thrown in! The morning panel of judges included DCMGs Maggie Saucedo, Sara Burke, Cynthia Jones, Mark Jones, Vicki Cartwright, Judy Carpenter, Fran Blacha, and Bertha Mathews, who were all quite impressed with the knowledge shared and the unique delivery style of each student.
Additional presentations will take place on Tuesday, May 6. The judges will include Leslie Densmore, Joann Magers, Tamisha Daniels, Zandra Faris, Vicki Cartwright, Fran Blacha, and Bertha Mathews.
The students share their presentations to understand our dedication to educating the public on horticulture and gardening information. We give back as volunteers to our community in Dallas County and beyond. We can never say thank you enough to all the students for their dedication to becoming a Master Gardener.
Once all are complete, the students will be ready to accept their official DCMG Intern badges. Many have already started working on their requirement of 50 hours of approved volunteer service, which will make them eligible for certification and their own Texas-shaped DCMG badge.
Kudos to the Class of 2025! We look forward to working with and learning from you all!
