Help Desk- A Resource for County Residents

The Help Desk exists to provide sound, research-based information to homeowners, community gardeners, and others throughout Dallas County. We have built a work-from-home, email-based system that can withstand tornadoes, pandemics, and record-breaking freezes.

Volunteer for Help Desk
Help Desk volunteers enjoy taking on challenging questions, finding good answers, and providing those answers to our neighbors.

Question of the Week, Question of the Month, and the Freeze Response Project are all projects coordinated by the Help Desk. The efforts of generous volunteers make all these additional activities possible.

Help Desk volunteers earn Volunteer Hours for their work. Research time can be recorded either as Volunteer Hours or as CEUs. Since the Help Desk system is entirely email-based, volunteers can work whenever they want for as long as they want.
