Dallas County Master Gardener Speakers Bureau is a volunteer arm of Texas AgriLife Extension Service. Fulfilling the mission of educating the public on good horticulture practices, the education outreach of Speakers Bureau reached 6,500 people in 2007. Volunteer speakers talk to civic groups, neighborhood associations, garden clubs and events. We are proud to say the Texas Master Gardener Association recognized our Speakers Bureau as a Best Educational Program of 2007.  Volunteer speakers talk to groups of 10 or more in Dallas County.  Groups include civic groups, neighborhood associations, garden clubs and events.  Speakers Bureau offers an extensive variety of horticultural topics. 

Frequently requested topics include: WaterWise Gardening, Herbs, Native & Adaptive Plants, Turf Management, EARTH-KIND™ Roses, Rainwater Harvesting, Beneficial Insects, Butterfly Gardening and The Beauty of Wildflowers.

Specialty topics include:  Orchids, Butterfly Gardening, Container Gardening, Asian Gardens, Gardens of Scotland, English Gardens, Religious Gardens, Beneficial Insects, Beauty of Wildflowers, and more.  Many other topics are available.  Examples are:  Orchids, Butterfly Gardening, Container Gardening, Asian Insects, Beauty of Wildflowers, and more.  Many other topics are available.

A Speakers Bureau scheduler will contact you to arrange a talk at the location, date and time of your choice.
Some presentations are shown with a laptop, projector, and screen, some are demonstrations, and some use other formats. Our speakers can bring whatever they need. Most talks are about 45-60 minutes but we can probably provide other lengths.  
Although there is no charge for speakers, donations are accepted in the form of honorariums and are used to support the community projects of the Dallas County Master Gardener Association, Inc.

Please provide us three weeks to arrange for your speaker.  We will provide a confirmation form and the speaker will confirm the details a week or two before the presentation.
