Master Gardener School application information
Become a Dallas County Master Gardener
Applications for the 2017 Master Gardener School are now closed. Check back next year for the 2018 class!
The Master Gardener Training Program consists of 15 classes, all held on Mondays, from January through April. The classes meet from 9 am to 3:30 pm. Classes are held at the Texas A&M AgriLife Dallas County Extension Office, 10056 Marsh Lane in Dallas.
To be accepted into the program, you must fill out an application, submit to a background check, and attend a mandatory orientation meeting generally held in January. In addition to the 72 hours of class time, you must contribute a minimum of 72 hours of approved volunteer work on Dallas County Master Gardener approved projects prior to November 30 of the year of the training. After that first year, you are required to contribute a minimum of 30 approved volunteer hours and 6 hours of continuing education each year to remain a Certified Master Gardener.
